The one with the red jeans.

Colored jeans are great items to enhance your outfit. They will make you stand out more from the rest of the crowds. There are many types of colored jeans, from subtle colors to bold colors (depends on your preference), from skinny to straight cut. In my own opinion, red jeans (from iTop) are perfectly paired with dark colored tops. If the room is too cold, wear and match your cardigan (from WP) with your shoes and tie. This will going to minimize your outfit, while keeping the red jeans as the focus of your outfit.

Outfit idea for guys' night out.

It is always a good idea to sport a jacket during the night. Firstly, your jacket keeps you warm and cozy. Secondly, a decent jacket will going to enhance your style. For this look, I wore a light grey jacket by H&M (SG), white shirt by Topman (SG), chinos by Cotton On (SG) and sneakers by Converse. You can always transform this night look into a day look by simply taking off you jacket and put on sunglasses.

Another bow tie look.

The previous bow tie look showed plain grey bow tie (by H&M), paired with checkered shirt, bold green pant and blue loafers. For this bow tie look, I wore a wavy sky blue printed bow tie (from iTop). Thus, wearing an almost plain shirt should be able to retain the focus and details of the bow tie. The whole outfit is quite minimal; white shirt with subtle thin striped sky blue (to match with the bow tie), dark jeans, chocolate wrist watch (by Fossil), belt and shoes. There's not much going on except for the detailed bow tie. 

Modern urban look.

The modern urban look shows close fitting outfit. For modern men in an urban area, the trend shows decent fit in terms of pants/ trousers and shirts. Moreover, modern jackets, blazers or sweaters have a good fit which emphasis the body shape. Thus, you may appear taller and younger. Remember the 1990's men's fashion trend? The 90's trend is over! Also, notice how men's jeans become darker over the years (the 80's showed acid wash jeans, the 90's had bright blue jeans, while the modern jeans have darker color jeans).

My college look.

Study with style :) . This is one of my favorite college looks. The blue jacket, skinny tie and checkered shirt make the outfit appear smart, preppy and youthful. If you wore a jacket or blazer, try not to sport a back pack because it does not look good, plus your jacket or blazer will be ruined.

Breaking the rules.

Wearing a particular shirt's pattern, color or design has its own emphasis or focus. For instance, a checkered shirt shows details of its pattern or design. This means that the focus of your outfit is your checkered shirt. As a result, your tie or pants should appear minimal in terms of its color, shades, pattern or design. However, I would like to break the rules. I wore my favorite checkered shirt with a striped tie. As long as the stripes are subtle (in terms of shades), I guess you are ok.

When the temperature drops.

Feeling a bit cold? What to wear when the temperature drops? Just wear your sweater. It's easy! You don't have to change your short sleeve shirt. I like to match my sweater with my shoes. Thus, your sweater and shoes will be of the same shade/ color.

Outfit idea for the night.

Night is the perfect time for you to layer your outfit. Sport a sweater (either muted or neon colored sweater) to enhance your look. A well fitted sweater will make you appear slender. The purpose of a sweater is to keep yourself warm and cozy, yet enhancing your sense of style.

Neon colors and muted colors. It is all about balance.

Neon colors are bold and bright. Thus, they attract attention. While muted colors are colors that are quite dark. Thus, they appear to be dull. Sport both types of color to create balance in your outfit. For example, black blazer and charcoal under shirt combined with mustard pant. The purpose is to attract people's attention towards your pant. It is all about balance.

Contrasting colors.

Cool colors and warm colors can be worn together to create contrasting colors. For example, pair yellow pant (warm color) with blue shirt (cool color). To make your accessories appear more appealing, neon colors are a great way to make your accessories stand out.

How to appear slimmer? Sport a good fitted & dark colored outfit!

Dark colored outfit is a great way to make you appear slimmer or skinnier. A good fitted outfit shows your healthy manly physique. Furthermore, stains may appear less obvious when you wear dark colored outfit. But the thing about dark colored outfit is dust or cats' fur/ hair can be easily spotted! Buy a lint roller and use it to remove all those unwanted dust/ cats' fur. It works wonder!

Outfit idea for working men in their 20s.

Men in their twenties should opt for neutral colors for their work wear because neutral colors appear clean, smart & laid back. It takes a huge amount of confidence to sport bold colors such as red blood shirt or neon green tie. Most men out there feel more comfortable with neutral colors. The key is a good fit! Moreover, men in their twenties look good with sling bags. Try to match your sling bags with your belt, shoes and accessories. One more thing, do not over accessories.

'High end fashion' look.

This look is inspired by 'high end fashion' look on fashion show. The combination of colors and decent patterns make the outfit appear luxurious, fashionable and modern. The sweater looks really good with formal white shirt and dark colored tie. The sweater fits to the body very well.

Neutral colors.

The opposite of neon & bold colors is neutral colors. Neutral colors may include brown, beige, black, grey, khaki and navy blue. These colors are perfectly worn during a cloudy/ rainy day. I have seen many men are wearing neutral colors compared to neon colors. Neutral colors suit for many skin tones, while neon colors may appear one's skin darker than naturally.

1950's vibe.

I rarely seen Bruneian men wearing suspenders. Suspenders and belts have the same purpose; to hold your pants up. The rule is sport either one at a time. In other words, do not wear both at the same time. Suspenders come in many colors, shades and sizes.

As for the title post, the look plus the vintage remind me of the 1950's (greasy look).

Topaz brown.

Topaz brown is one of the colors that everyone can pull off. It is a rich color, with a little bit of gold tint. Pair topaz brown tie, belt and shoes with either bright or dark shirt. Both will look amazing!

Color blocking.

You can't go wrong with checkered shirts. They look great with blazers, sweaters, jackets, ties etc. They never appear out of trend! Checkered shirts are essential in every man's wardrobe regardless of age. In addition, color blocking is a great way to enhance or brighten up your look, especially during a sunny day. Thus, you may appear more radiant!

Today's post is about my favorite work wear. Good fit is the key towards a well-dressed man! In addition, your tailor is your best friend! The thing about dark colored outfit is it makes you appear more mature, yes? :) Bought both shirt & tie from Hua Ho (Yayasan). The shirt is a bit pricey due to the good quality & brand. Trousers are tailored by my favorite tailor. The scent describes the look: strong, confident & dominant.
